- קְפַץch. same, 1) to contract, close Targ. O. Deut. 15:7. Targ. Y. Gen. 28:10.Ḥull.91b קָפְצָה ליה ארעא the earth shrank under him (v. preced.). 2) to leap, be anxious for. Nidd.8b מידי דקָפִיץ עליה זבונא something at which the purchaser jumps (i. e. a quality which makes the object more desirable).
